Awwhh....my sweet girls at the little mermaid...wish I had a picture of my visit there at your age to compare...brings back fond memories...and creates a unique point of connectedness...thanks for posting this! Love you!
so that is a mermaid, what's the deal with that
According to the official tourism site of Copenhagen and the surrounding area, http://www.woco.dk/composite-1340.htm
THE LITTLE MERMAID
"Hans Christian Andersen wrote a fairy tale about her, Disney produced a movie and Copenhagen maintains a statue in her honour. The Little Mermaid continues to be the most popular tourist attraction in Denmark and one of the most photographed statues in the world..." At the above site, there are links on which you may click to learn yet more scintillating details such as:
The fairy tale
Hans Christian Andersen wrote the story about The Little Mermaid.
Who made her?
Read more about the sculptor behind the statue.
Her turbulent life
The little bronze lady has gone through an awful lot during the years...(including two decapitations).
If you look closely at the pix Dev it does look like she's got legs...but in different shots she clearly has a mermaid/fish tail.
Yo, that green chick doesn't have a shirt on.
Meghan,
How is it that you're always up online and posting before anyone else?!
That actually is not a mermaid at all, it is however the famed "Lady of The Lake" from Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. I'm certain, as just last night I enjoyed a performance of Spamalot at Proctor's Theatre. Also, don't you girls have jobs? It seems as though you are on permenent vacay.
Lots of love,
Cousin Tim
